The Federal Republic of Germany Office of Defence Administration, Poland
Service provider for the Bundeswehr
Mission
The Federal Republic of Germany Office of Defence Administration, Poland is based in Szczecin; it was set up on 01 September 1999 in connection with the establishment of the Headquarters of the Multinational Corps Northeast. Since it is the only activity within the major organisational element “Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services” (IEPS) that is located east of the German border, the Office of Defence Administration in Poland is responsible for the administrative and economic support of all Bundeswehr service members, agencies and other facilities in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This responsibility also extends to exercise activities by German forces.
In principle, the duties and responsibilities of the Office of Defence Administration are equal to those of a Bundeswehr service centre. In addition, it represents the Bundeswehr in various legal and administrative matters vis-à-vis Host Nation and NATO authorities.
