Mission
The Federal Republic of Germany Office of Defence Administration, Italy is headquartered in the Sicilian city of Catania, has a branch office in Naples and regional services in Poggio Renatico and Izmir, Türkiye. Its job is to ensure the administrative and economic support of all Bundeswehr service members, agencies and other facilities located in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Israel.
It is responsible there for all German soldiers and civilian employees and their dependents. Since August 2022, support has also included the newly opened German School in Catania and its staff.
In principle, its duties and responsibilities are equal to those of a Bundeswehr service centre. Besides, the Office of Defence Administration represents the Bundeswehr in various legal and administrative matters vis-à-vis Host Nation and NATO authorities.
