Welcome note

Since 1983 ISIEMSInternational Symposium on Interaction of the Effects of Munitions with Structures offers a week of outstanding presentations and the possibility to meet scientists from all around the world. The conference venue (Gustav-Stresemann-Institut) is located in Bonn, the former capital of Germany. It is situated in the banks of the Rhine, which provides a picturesque setting while allowing for a central location in the city.

Below you will find all information you require for registration and submission of your abstract. This page will be gradually updated to provide you with all required information and forms that you will need to participate.

Agenda

More than 130 interesting abstracts have been accepted for 19th ISIEMSInternational Symposium on Interaction of the Effects of Munitions with Structures. The rough schedule is set. We are currently planning the content of the individual sessions. The detailed schedule, including the specific sessions, presentations, and supplementary information, will be published in October. We still need additional volunteers to chair the sessions.

After review and approval of your abstract we will contact you and provide the template for your paper.

Deadline for paper submission will be 30th September 2024.

Please keep in mind that the presentation time for your paper is limited to 20 min, which should include 5 min for questions and discussion.

Cancellation of Registration

Deadline: 11th October 2024.

Written notification is required for cancellations. Cancellations for registrations made until 11th October 2024 will result in a full refund less 100 Euro to cover administration costs. For cancellations after 11th October 2024 the Organisation Committee retains the authority to make the decision regarding cancellations in different situations on an individual basis.

Accompanied Guest

The Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (Politics and education Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (gsi-bonn.de)) is a non-profit educational institution based in Bonn, Germany. How to get there

Cologne Airport (CGN)

To travel from Cologne Airport to Gustav-Stresemann-Institut in Bonn, you have a few options. The most convenient way is to take a taxi directly to the institute, which would take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic and will cost around 70 Euro.

Alternatively, you can take public transportation. From Cologne Airport, take the suburban train to Cologne Central Station. At Cologne Central Station, transfer to a train bound for Bonn Central Station. From Bonn Central Station, you can take a taxi or public transportation (bus or tram) to reach Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (Stop „Max-Löbner-Straße“). Tickets can be purchased at www.bahn.com.

Frankfurt Airport (FRA)

First, take the train from Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt Central Station. Every 2 hours, you can take a direct train to Bonn Central Station. The travel duration is approx. 2 hours. Tickets can be purchased at www.bahn.com.

Once you arrive at Bonn Central Station, you can either take a taxi or public transportation (bus or tram) to reach Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (Stop “Max-Löbner-Straße“).

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)

Take the SkyTrain or a shuttle bus to Düsseldorf Airport Terminal station, where you can catch a train to Düsseldorf Central Station. Every 60 min, you can take a direct train to Bonn Central Station. The travel duration is approx. 1 hour. Tickets can be purchased at www.bahn.com.

From Bonn Central Station, you can take a taxi or public transportation (bus or tram) to reach Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (Stop „Max-Löbner-Straße“).

Taxi

The costs for a taxi from Bonn Central Station to Gustav-Stresemann-Institut is around 20 €.
