The weapon system support center 1 repairs highly complex military aircraft and their components, analyzes and maintains operationally important software and provides support in operations.

Mission

Weapon Systems Support Center 1 repairs highly complex military aircraft and their components, analyzes and maintains operationally important software and provides support during deployments. Its main locations are Manching, Erding, Landsberg and Ummendorf.

Fields of expertise and technology:

  • maintenance of aircraft and aircraft components,
  • technical and logistical support for Air Force task forces at their home bases as well as in Germany and abroad,
  • troubleshooting, maintenance and modification of operationally important software on Eurofighter and Tornado aircraft,
  • support during the development and phase-in of combat aircraft and remotely piloted aircraft,
  • engineering and technical assistance for the in-service support management of the various airborne weapon systems,
  • close cooperation with industry and other armed forces within the framework of cooperation agreements.

The subordinate units are Bundeswehr centers of maintenance know-how for the Air Force's airborne weapon systems and their complex assemblies. This includes hydraulic and electrical systems, avionics and rescue systems, on-board computers of airborne weapon systems and engines of jet aircraft and helicopters.
