The Bundeswehr Medical Service at a glance
The Bundeswehr Medical Service is responsible for the provision of health care to the members of the Bundeswehr. Core task of the Bundeswehr Medical Service is to preserve, promote, maintain or restore the health of military personnel, both on deployments and in Germany. Medical care on operations and missions corresponds to medical standards in Germany. Organisation and structure of the Bundeswehr Medical Service are geared to this guiding principle.
Elements of the organisational structure
Bundeswehr Health Care is the umbrella term for all measures relating to the health of Bundeswehr members. The independent and complex Bundeswehr health system includes patient care and public health (health protection and promotion), further development and research, as well as management and control of this military health system. The organisation and structure of the Bundeswehr Medical Service reflect all elements of the civilian health system from a single source.
