The Director MMCCMultinational Medical Coordination Centre/EMCEuropean Medical Command, Brigadier General, Medical Corps, Dr Stefan Kowitz, underlined the options of support for the participating nations, NATO and the EU. He addressed in particular the importance of transnational patient flow management. A current example in this context is the support provided by the EU in the flow management of Ukrainian patients. But also in the event of an Article 5 contingency, MMCCMultinational Medical Coordination Centre/EMCEuropean Medical Command plays an important role in patient flow management. In this context, Brigadier General Dr Kowitz detailed on the lessons learned from relevant exercises hosted by MMCCMultinational Medical Coordination Centre/EMCEuropean Medical Command, in particular the war game Casualty Move (CAMOContinuing Airworthiness Management Organisation) 2023.

The visit highlighted the potential for cooperation between the Croatian Medical Service and MMCCMultinational Medical Coordination Centre/EMCEuropean Medical Command. This potential must be further explored and deepened. After joining MMCCMultinational Medical Coordination Centre/EMCEuropean Medical Command, the Croatian Medical Service, too, can participate in the multinational cooperation and coordination activities. Brigadier General Dr Kowitz extended an invitation in this respect and also regarding participation in the next exercise of the CAMOContinuing Airworthiness Management Organisation series in September 2024.
