Included within the social program, was a guided tour through the Government Bunker, one of the most interesting Buildings in Germany. The construction of this bunker was a highly kept secret and was completed in 1971, with a staggering length of 17.3 km. It accommodated 936 beds and 897 Offices, which included spaces for the German Chancellor. During 2001-2006, major parts of this substantial structure were demolished. However, 203 meters of the original Building were retained, renovated and transformed into a Museum.

Another highlight at the Symposium, was an open discussion, hosted by Julia Weigelt, which explored the future challenges of physical protection, future development and possible risks. Participants included representatives from Germany (FOBwIEPSFederal Office of Bundeswehr Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services), USA (DTRADefense Threat Reduction Agency), Belgium (RHIDRoyal higher Institute for Defense, Belgium) and UKUnited Kingdom (MSIACMunitions Safety Information Analysis Center).
